Fun With Garden Stakes

Transform your garden into a gallery of stake sculpture! Garden stakes can add a special touch of color and whimsy to any garden area. Add them to a potted plant, in an entryway, on your balcony, along a sidewalk, flower bed or an herb garden. They come in a variety of styles, shapes and sizes to choose from.

Almost anything can become a garden stake. You might try making some of your own. Some inexpensive dowels, used broom handles or balusters will make the perfect part to stick in the ground. Next, let you imagination run wild! See what you find lying around the house or pick up items of decor at a yard sale to top your stakes. Using screws and weatherproof glue, attach your finds. You can use just about anything! Consider a small terra cotta pot, door knob, colorful beads strung on copper wire, a drawer pull, small watering can, painted wooden pin wheel or a plastic ornament of some kind....reach for the sky!

Other garden stakes can be personalized and used as markers for flowers or vegetables. You may want to use old discarded shovels heads or hoes. Insert a short handle to stick it in them ground. "Welcome to My Garden" could be painted or stenciled on it to add your own personal touch.

Seasonal garden stakes might be a witch flying by on her broomstick, a pumpkin jack- a-lantern, or goblin for Halloween. You may want to make a scarecrow out of old clothing you have lying around. Stuff it with some straw and this would be great to scare off birds from your garden or just a nice fall decoration. Christmas is the perfect time for that "Santa Stop Here" sign. Consider a snowman measuring stick to count the snowfall soon to come.

All of these ideas make a great garden stake! Whether you make them yourself or purchase a unique one, decorative garden stakes liven up any garden space! Just pick your season and have fun decorating. Check out the selection of garden stakes at mygardenornaments.com today!
